Sidi Mechreg
BizerteAbout this place
On the rugged coast west of Bizerte, Sidi Mechreg is a small fishing cove backed by green hills. The remains of Roman baths stand right on the shore, their brick arches washed by the waves.
The beach stays quiet outside July and August, and the surrounding headlands are good for short coastal walks and sunset photos.
Getting there
By car via Sejnane; the last stretch is a narrow road down to the cove.
Good to know
- Services are limited: bring food and water.
- The sea gets rough when the wind blows from the north.
